Micromax subsidiary YU Televentures has launched its new Yureka Black smartphone in India today. Priced at Rs. 8,999, the new Yureka smartphone will exclusively go on sale via e-retail site Flipkart starting June 6 midnight.
Talking about the specifications, the new Yu Yureka Black features a 5-inch full HD (1080×1920 resolution) IPS 2.5D curved glass display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The phone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor clocked at 1.4GHz and paired with 4GB of RAM. The device offers 32GB inbuilt storage which is further expandable up to 128GB via microSD card.
As for the optics, the Yu Yureka Black sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash and PDAF (phase detection auto focus). At front, it has an 8-megapixel camera with front-flash. It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with company’s skin layered on top. The fingerprint sensor on the device is embedded in the home button. The phone carries a 3000mAh non-removable battery. It boasts a metal unibody design.
The hybrid dual-SIM Yu Yureka Black offers 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, micro-USB, USB OTG (on-the-go) and GPS under its connectivity suite. Sensors on board include- Accelerometer, ambient light sensor, and proximity sensor.
The Yu Yureka Black will be available in two colour variants- Chrome Black with a glossy finish and Matte Black colour with a smooth finish.
Commenting on the launch, Shubhodip Pal, Chief Marketing and Chief Commercial Officer, Micromax Informatics said, “Most of the consumers in the age group of 18-25 years felt that all the smartphones in the sub 10K category look almost the same. With Yureka Black, we are targeting these consumers who believe that the phones should be a reflection of their personality and are looking for smartphones which is not just strong in the hardware front but are aesthetically great looking as well.”
