Micromax sub-brand Yu today expanded its Yureka lineup with the all new Yu Yureka 2 for Rs 11,999. The phone goes on sale exclusively on Flipkart during the Big Billion sale on September 20. Besides the latest addition, Yureka lineup also consists of Yureka Black, Yureka S, Yureka Note, and Yureka Plus. Design-wise, Yu Yureka 2 flaunts a metal body featuring plastic caps at rear top and bottom alongside antenna lines. The rear also boasts of a fingerprint scanner as well as Yu branding at the bottom.
As for specs, Yu Yureka 2 sports a 5.5-inch Full HD (1,920 x 1,080) with 2.5D glass and 401 ppi pixel density. Powering the handset is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 octa-core SoC and Adreno 506 GPU for graphics. The device has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which should be expandable via microSD.
In terms of camera, Yu Yureka 2 houses a 16MP primary shooter and an 8MP selfie shooter. The device is backed by a 3,930mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support, which is claimed to deliver 24 hours backup.
Yu Yureka 2 looks promising on paper and is likely to compete with Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 (Review), which costs Rs 12,999 for similar memory configuration. The Redmi Note 4, however, houses a bigger 4,100mAh battery, which also performed exceptionally well in our Redmi Note 4 battery review.
Earlier this month, Xiaomi released Android One-powered Mi A1 (camera samples and first impressions) in India for Rs 14,999. Specs-wise, it offers 5.5″ FHD screen, Snapdragon 625 SoC, 4GB RAM, and 64GB internal storage. It houses 12MP dual cameras and 5MP selfie camera and packs a 3080mAh battery.
