YouTube design and logo update rolled out, as part of which Google’s popular video-sharing service looks much clean cleaner than before. In case that wasn’t enough, hear out that YouTube also revealed a new logo, which can be easily recognised as something new on both YouTube app and desktop website.

Some of YouTube design changes include a new white colour header to show more content as well as a change in position of the navigation tabs. They are now moved to the bottom of the app so that operating them using thumbs would be easier. YouTube also added new Library and Accounts tabs, allowing easy access to videos.

YouTube also said that support for more gestures in the works, and as introduced earlier this year, they allow double tapping on the left or right side of the video to fast forward or rewind 10 seconds. YouTube also encouraged users to try those features and said that it records billions of double tabs.

So, new gestures have geared up to be integrated into the platform. YouTube said that it’s mulling over experimenting with a new gesture to let users switch between videos in a matter of swipes. For example, users can swipe left to watch a previous video or swipe right to watch the next one.

YouTube for mobile also added the ability to speed up or slow down the playback of video. Until now, this feature was limited to the desktop. YouTube player will soon be able to change shapes of videos to match the format, i.e., vertical, square, or horizontal. YouTube has promised a makeover of the area below the player to let users browse and discover while watching a video.

YouTube also updated its logo, which according to the company combines a cleaned up version of both the wordmark and icon. “We know this is a lot of change, but we want to make clear that there’s one thing that stays the same: YouTube’s mission. We’re here to give people a voice and show them the world – no matter what device they use,” said YouTube.
