Xiaomi’s Mi S smartphone spotted online. According to leak report, Xiaomi is working on a high-end compact size smartphone called ‘Mi S’. the renders are revealed on Chinese microblogging site Weibo (via Android Pure) which showed the new device from various angles. The images that appear to be some ‘promotional material’ highlights some of the key specifications of the new device.
The leak report suggests that the phone will come with a 4.6-inch full HD 1080p display with 2.5D curved glass on top of it. The phone will likely come with Snapdragon 821 processor coupled with 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. The device will pack a 2600mAh battery.
In terms of the imaging segment, the phone could come with a 12-megapixel rear camera with a Sony IMX 378 sensor with f/2.0 aperture and dual LED flash. The phone will support 4K video recording. The front facing camera will feature a 4-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 aperture and 1080p recording. The phone will support Quick Charge 3.0 and come with a finger-print sensor embedded into the home button up front.
The phone measures 128.3 long, 8mm thick and weighs at 132 grams. The design of the Mi S looks like the mini variant of the Mi 5 smartphone.
Apart from the Xiaomi Mi S, rumours of the Mini 5 Mini is surfacing as well. Its speculated that Xiaomi is planning to position the device as a direct competition to Apple’s iPhone SE, which is a high-end smartphone which packs a 4-inch screen size. However, previous leaks revealed that the smartphone will house a 4.3-inch 720p HD display and a Snapdragon 820 processor.
But we still have to be skeptical until Xiaomi makes an official announcement of this high-end compact sized smartphone in the smartphone market.
