Xiaomi India chief Manu Kumar Jain confirmed on Monday that the company is all set to launch its flagship dual camera smartphone in India on September 5. The smartphone in question is the Mi 5X which was first announced in China last month. Now, Techook has exclusively got hold of Xiaomi’s potential device announcements, hinting at few smartphones that are set to launch in India over the course of next few months.
According to a reliable source, Xiaomi is expected to announce all these smartphones in a particular order as listed below. However, Xiaomi may also decide to change the order in which it will launch all these phones in India. Interestingly, Xiaomi’s potential India-specific announcements also consist of the Mi 5X, which is in fact just a week away from launching officially. So, here’s the list:
1) Xiaomi Mi 5X
The Xiaomi Mi 5X dual camera smartphone is all set to launch in India on September 5. Specs-wise, it has a 5.5-inch 1080p LTPS display. It houses dual (12MP+12MP) rear camera with dual-tone LED flash. Up front, there’s a 5MP selfie camera. It’s powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 625 SoC coupled with 4GB of RAM 64GB of expandable storage. It runs Android Nougat with MIUI on top. It supports 4G VoLTE, offers a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, and a 3,080mAh battery.
Update (August 31, 2017 / 06:25 PM): According to reports, Xiaomi’s rumoured A1 smartphone bears the same model number as Mi 5X. Reports also suggest that the A1 could be a re-branded version of the Mi 5X.

2) Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A
Based on our information, Xiaomi will also launch the Redmi Note 5A in India next month. It flaunts a metal unibody without a fingerprint reader of any kind, measuring 7.55mm in thickness and weighing 150g. It sports a 5.5-inch 720p display and comes in multiple colour options. Internally, there’s a 1.4GHz Snapdragon 425 quad-core SoC, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of expandable storage. It houses a 13MP rear camera and 5MP selfie camera and packs a 3,080mAh battery.
Update (November 02, 2017 / 02:35 PM): Xiaomi today launched Redmi Y1 Lite in India, which is a rebranded Redmi Note 5A in terms of hardware and design.
3) Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A (Higher variant)
A higher variant of the Redmi Note 5A is likely to be launched in India a month after its younger counterpart goes on sale in the country. Rumour has it that it could also be dubbed the Redmi Note 5A Prime in India. Unlike its younger counterpart, the device flaunts a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. It has a similar display and battery specifications. However, it packs a 1.4GHz Snapdragon 435 octa-core SoC and offers two memory options: 3GB of RAM with 32GB of internal memory and 4GB of RAM with 64GB of internal memory.

4) Xiaomi Mi 6
This particular release may come as a big surprise to all those who’ve been waiting for the Xiaomi Mi 6 to be announced in India. As per our information, Xiaomi has geared up to launch its flagship Mi 6 smartphone in India later in October. It offers a 5.15-inch 1080p display, 6GB of RAM, and 64GB/128GB of non-expandable storage. It runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat and houses a dual (12MP+12MP) rear camera in addition to an 8MP selfie camera. It packs a 3,350mAh battery under the hood.
5) Xiaomi Mi Mix 2
Xiaomi has also geared up to announce it bezel-less Mi Mix 2 in India, which is likely to be launched in November. From what we’ve seen already on benchmark listings, powering the yet-to-be-official Mi Mix 2 could be Qualcomm’s top of the line Snapdragon 835 SoC coupled with Adreno 540 GPU for graphics and Android 7.1.1 based software out-of-the-box.
Update (August 30, 2017 / 1.45PM): Xiaomi India Manu Kumar Jain confirmed the arrival of Mi Mix 2. However, it’s also possible that he may be referring to the China launch at this point. But there’s still a room for speculations.

Update (September 11, 2017 / 03:15 PM): Xiaomi globally unveiled Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 at a press event in China. The biggest attraction, it flaunts a 5.99-inch edge-to-edge display and runs on Qualcomm’s top of the line Snapdragon 835 SoC.

From what we’ve seen for far in 2017, Xiaomi releases a new smartphone every alternate month. However, it is entirely possible that the company decides to change this approach and aggressively expand its portfolio in the Indian market before the end of the financial year.
