Xiaomi introduced its latest MIUI custom skin in July this year. While the ninth iteration was in beta testing for several months, the Chinese smartphone maker finally brought the MIUI 9 stable version in November 2 with the launch of new Redmi Y-series launch alongside in India.
Xiaomi earlier announced the upgrade of its smartphones to Android Nougat with a gradual release that rolled out eventually in three stages. While the Redmi Note 4 and the flagship Mi 6 were the first to get a taste of the new Xiaomi custom ROM skin, the popular budget smartphone has now received the stable version of MIUI 9 as well. Notably, Xiaomi released (as pointed out by XDA developers) the ‘Beta Stable update’ for the Redmi Note 4 on the same day when MIUI 9 Global stable update was announced.
Xiaomi has started rolling out the new MIUI 9 custom ROM Global Stable update for the Redmi Note 4 Snapdragon variant. The MIUI 9 based on Android Nougat brings a bunch of new features- Smart Assistant, Smart app launcher, new themes, enhanced battery life using Doze on the go, split-screen, image search and more.
