With reports swirling around Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 over the past two months, a new leak has now claimed that the smartphone will be launched at the end of this month.
The report comes from GizmoChina which says that the new Redmi series smartphone will be revealed ahead of the Chinese OEM’s latest flagship Mi 6. The Redmi Pro 2 is said to feature the same camera configuration like its predecessor Redmi Pro. Notably, the Redmi Pro was Xiaomi’s first smartphone that featured dual camera setup.
A separate report has claimed that the new model might sport a 12-megapixel module on the rear panel of the device. Previous leaks have suggested that the Redmi Pro 2 will pack a Snapdragon 660 system-on-chip (SoC). However, the fresh leaks refuting the previously claimed reports cited that the smartphone will instead be powered by a Helio P25 processor. The phone is tipped to feature a 5.5-inch full HD (1080p resolution) display. The Redmi Pro 2 is expected to come in two storage variants- 4GB RAM+64GB onboard storage and 6GB RAM+128GB internal storage.
Earlier leaks have speculated that the smartphone will sport an all-metal body with 2.5D curved glass. The phone is said to pack a large 4500mAh battery. The 4GB RAM model is expected to be priced at 1599 Yuan (roughly Rs. 15,300), while the 6GB RAM version is tipped to cost 1799 Yuan (around Rs. 17,200).
Xiaomi however, has not shared any confirmation regarding the Redmi Pro 2. As such these reports should be taken with a pinch of salt until the company makes an official announcement.
