Xiaomi might soon be launching a new Redmi branded smartphone in China. This might be the alleged Redmi Note 5 smartphone. It is being reported that the company will be launching the device in October, and will be bringing it to India soon. As of now, not much is known about the alleged Redmi Note 5, and we haven’t seen much leaks and reports about the device.
As per the report on Weibo, it can be assumed that the Note 5 will be a big upgrade from the Note 4. Interestingly The Redmi Note 4 is Xiaomi’s best-selling smartphone in India. As per the report, the new device will feature major improvements in terms of hardware and camera performance. It states that the smartphone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset, which as per the source is a much faster and optimised processor as compared to the Snapdragon 625 currently used in the Redmi Note 4.
It is also being said that the alleged Redmi Note 5 will feature a dual camera setup in the rear similar to the one seen in the Xiaomi Mi 5X. The dual camera setup will feature a 16-megapixel wide-angle camera accompanied by a 5-megapixel telephoto camera. On the front, is being said that the device will feature a 12-megapixel selfie camera.

As for the specifications, the report says that the alleged Redmi Note 5 will come in two RAM and storage variants – 4GB RAM/64GB internal storage, 3GB RAM/32GB internal storage. It is being said that the design also will be similar to the Note 4 with a 5.5-inch display. It is expected to be backed by a 4,000mAh non-removable battery.
