One of Xiaomi’s best selling smartphones, Redmi Note 4, just got a thousand Rupees cheaper in India. The official price cut was announced by their India Head, Manu Kumar Jain on Twitter last night. The 3GB RAM/32GB storage version is now priced at Rs 9,999, while the 4GB RAM/64GB storage variant can be purchased for Rs 11,999.
The new price tags are applicable on Mi.com as well as Flipkart. More importantly, the stocks are available and they can be purchased without the flash sale drama. Of course, nobody would bother chasing the Redmi Note 4 today in a flash sale almost 10 months after it’s launch.
The price drop may hint at Xiaomi looking to clear the remaining stock of the Note 4 with its successor expected to be out next quarter. Having said that, Redmi Note 4’s specifications are still respectable and offer excellent value for money at those price points.
It is powered by an efficient octa-core Snapdragon 625 SOC clocked at 2GHz. As mentioned earlier, it comes in two RAM and storage variants along with a MicroSD card slot for further storage expansion. Other key features include a 5.5” Full HD (1920 x 1080) display with 2.5D glass, a 13MP rear camera with PDAF, 5MP selfie camera and a fingerprint sensor. The VoLTE enabled smartphone flaunts a good battery life thanks to its 4100mAh battery.
What makes the deal sweeter and relevant is Xiaomi’s recent roll out of MIUI 9 custom ROM based on Android Nougat for the Redmi Note 4 that brings a bunch of new features like Smart Assistant, Smart app launcher, new themes, enhanced battery life using Doze on the go, split-screen, image search and more.
