Following the big billion hit of the Redmi Note 3, Xiaomi now plans to further its success with an new variant of the Redmi Note 4. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer last week confirmed that a Matte Black colour variant will go on sale in India on March 1. The new variant of the Redmi Note 4 will be available for purchase on its usual e-retail platforms-Flipkart, and Mi.com starting from 12pm onwards today, March 1 2017.
The company launched a number of new colours for the Redmi Note 4 back in January in India, namely Gold, Grey and Silver. Xiaomi recently claimed that it sold 250,000 units of the Redmi Note 4 within 10minutes on its first flash sale.
To refresh, the Redmi Note 4 is available in three storage variants. The base variant with 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage costs for Rs. 9,999. The 3GB RAM+32GB storage model comes with a tag of Rs. 10,999, while the 4GB RAM with 64GB inbuilt memory is priced at Rs. 12,999.
Specification wise, the Redmi Note 4 features a 5.5-inch full HD (1080p) display. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor fabricated with 14nm technology. Talking about it’s optics, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 sports a 13-megapixel camera at the back with phase detection auto focus and LED flash. It has a 5-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture at front. The fingerprint scanner is located on the rear panel below the camera on the device. On the software front, the Redmi Note 4 runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with company’s own MIUI 8 skin on top. Xiaomi has promised 7.0 Android Nougat update will be rolled out soon for the Redmi Note 4 units.
The all metal Redmi Note 4 is powered by a 4,100mAh battery. Connectivity options include dual-SIM support, 4G LTE with VoLTE support, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The on-board storage in the smartphone can be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card.
