Xiaomi’s soon to launch Redmi device will be Amazon exclusive. The popular Chinese smartphone maker on Wednesday sent out invites for March 20th, where it is expected to launch its most affordable Redmi 4A in India. The company is teasing the launch on Twitter and has confirmed that the new Redmi will be coming to Amazon.

The Xiaomi Redmi 4A is company’s affordable smartphone that was first launched in China in November last year. The smartphone is priced at 499 Yuan in China, which is roughly Rs. 5000, however we expect the price to start from Rs. 5,499 in India. If Xiaomi could bring the device around 6K price bracket then it will surely create a major disruption in low-range segment.

The Redmi 4A in China is a hybrid dual-SIM 4G VoLTE smartphone that runs on MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The handset features a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) display, is powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core Snapdragon 425 processor, but does not include a fingerprint sensor.


Other specifications include 2GB RAM, 16GB of internal storage and microSD card support (expandable up to 256GB). As for the camera, it features a 13-megapixel primary camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies. The battery on Redmi 4A is 3120mAh. Xiaomi is selling the device in china in three colour options – Gold, Rose Gold and Dark Grey.

While the Redmi 4A is more likely to sell on Mi.com and Amazon, in meanwhile the company is also working in offline to boost sales of Redmi Note 4. So far it sold 1 million Note 4 through online flash sales and from saturday the device will also be made available through offline retail stores in some parts of North India  – Delhi, Jaipur and Chandigarh.
