Xiaomi’s most affordable smartphone the Redmi 4A is up for sale on the online retail store Amazon India and company’s own e-commerce portal Mi.com. The sale will commmence at 12pm IST today. Priced at Rs. 5,999, the smartphone is available in two colour options- Dark Grey and Gold. A Rose Gold variant was also launched alongside that went on sale from April 6 via Mi.com.
To refresh, Xiaomi introduced its entry-level smartphone in India on March 20 this year. The company claimed that it sold 2.5 lakh units of Redmi 4A in 4 minutes across both Amazon India and Mi.com during the first sale.
The Xiaomi Redmi 4A features a plastic polycarbonate unibody. The smartphone sports a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) display, and is powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core Snapdragon 425 SoC coupled with the Adreno 308 GPU and 2GB of RAM.
In terms of imaging, the Xiaomi Redmi 4A rear camera has a 13-megapixel sensor with PDAF (phase detection autofocus), an f/2.2 aperture, and LED flash. On the front the device gets a 5-megapixel sensor with an f/2.2 aperture. Redmi 4A comes with 16GB of inbuilt storage which is further expandable up to 128GB via microSD card. The device runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with MIUI 8 skin layered on top.
Connectivity options in the smartphone include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS/ A-GPS, and Bluetooth v4.1. Sensors on board include accelerometer, ambient light, gyroscope, infrared, and proximity. The Xiaomi Redmi 4A smartphone has 139.5×70.4×8.5mm dimension, and it weighs 131.5 grams. The hybrid dual-SIM Redmi 4A is powered by a 3120mAh battery.
