Xiaomi on Tuesday launched a new variant of its most affordable smartphone, the Redmi 4A. The smartphone that already gained a lot of attention on the e-retail platform, Amazon India will now be available in 3GB RAM/32GB inbuilt storage option. The new storage variant comes for price of Rs. 6,999.
Manu Kumar Jain, the global VP for Xiaomi took to his Twitter handle to announce the launch of the all-new variant of Redmi 4A. “Surprise! We are launching a new variant of Redmi 4A (3GB RAM + 32 GB flash memory) at an amazing price of INR 6,999 ☺️,” his tweet reads.

Apart from the bump up in the RAM and storage, other specifications on this new model are the same. Notably, the ultra-affordable Xiaomi Redmi 4A from the company mid-range portfolio was introduced with 2GB of RAM and 16GB storage. The smartphone was unveiled in March this year at a competitive price of Rs. 5,999. The Xiaomi Redmi 4A features a 5-inch HD IPS display with 1280×720 resolution. The phone is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 425 processor clocked at 1.4GHz and paired with Adreno 308 GPU. The storage on the device is expandable up to 128GB via microSD card. On the software front, the Redmi 4A runs MIUI 8 based Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The hybrid dual-SIM smartphone carries a 13-megapixel rear camera with PDAF (phase detection autofocus), f/2.2 aperture and LED flash. It has a 5-megapixel front facing camera with f/2.2 aperture. The phone packs a 3120mAh battery and supports 4G VoLTE.
