Xiaomi launched its Mi TV 4A series back in 2017, and today it has made the sixth addition to the lineup, a 50-inch Mi TV 4A. It has been priced at CNY 2,399 (Approximately Rs 23,800). Xiaomi will be starting the pre-order process from Friday, and the device will go on sale from January 23 in China. Xiaomi will also be offering CNY 100 (Approximately Rs 1,000) discount when the sale begins.
First and foremost, the new 50-inch Mi TV 4A features an Artificial Intelligence (AI) recommendations UI which the company is calling PatchWall which is based on a deep learning AI technology and is layered over Google’s Android operating system. PatchWall curates content based upon the interests of the user.
The new TV features a lot of interesting specifications for the price. It sports a 4K UltraHD display panel with a resolution of 3840 x 2160. The display panel has a refresh rate of 60Hz with support for HDR10+ HLG. For CNY 2,399, the customers will get a frameless design TV with an integrated Mi TV Bar with 10 speakers, 2 wireless rear satellite speakers, and a subwoofer. Additionally, this model also supports the Dolby Atmos technology with which the company claims to offer an immersive 3D sound experience.
The Mi TV 4A 50-inch is powered by a quad-core Amlogic L962 processor coupled with 2GB of RAM along with 8GB of internal storage. It also supports a blue-light reduction mode to be much more easy on the eyes. It has a total of 3 HDMI ports, 2 USB ports, one AV input, an ethernet port, and an S/PDIF audio output port.
The TV is accompanied by the Mi Bluetooth Remote Control which comes with features like Speech Recognition and Mi Touch. As for the connectivity options, the 50-inch TV features Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, Dolby and DTS Audio.
It is unclear if or not this product will come to India. We contacted Xiaomi regarding this and haven’t heard back conclusively from them yet.
