Xiaomi is apparently gearing up to announce their Mi TV 4 in India on Feb 14, which is tomorrow. This brings us much closer to their rumoured debut in India’s television market and more importantly, beyond their existing lineup of smartphones and fitness bands. Notably, Xiaomi India is hosting a presser tomorrow in the capital, which is also expected to witness a couple of smartphone launches including the highly-anticipated Redmi Note 5.
Coming back to Xiaomi Mi TV 4, it flaunts a 4K resolution (3840 x 2160) stretched across 65-inch. But what really grabs the attention here is the integration of what they call ‘Patchwell,’ a deep learning AI (short for artificial intelligence) TV system. From what it seems, Patchwell understands your preferences courtesy of machine learning and classifies content accordingly.
Furthermore, it flaunts a frameless design, which is about 5mm slim. The design we get here is modular, which makes it possible to have motherboard and sound system separate from the display. The screen independently connects to a sound system called Mi TV Bar, which weighs about 3 and a half kilograms.
Other than all that, the Xiaomi Mi TV 4 has a subwoofer, which is about 308mm tall. It also has a satellite speaker to work with, but we need to wait a little longer to know more about its working until we put it to test ourselves. Xiaomi Mi TV 4 looks promising on-paper, especially due to Patchwell and we are looking forward to using those features ourselves we well.
For the sake of specs rundown, Xiaomi Mi TV 4 comes in different screen sizes: 49-inch, 55-inch and 65-inch. It has two front-firing speakers compatible with Dolby Atmos audio technology. As for connectivity, it supports dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, Mi Port, HDMI / AV / USB 2.0 / USB 3.0/ Ethernet ports. It’s expected to go on sale exclusively on Flipkart.
