Xiaomi flagship smartphone has received a permanent price cut of Rs 3000 as per a report from Gadgets360. The publication has claimed to have confirmed the price slash via offline retailers.
If the report is to be believed, the near-bezel less Mi MIX 2 will now be available at a price of Rs 32,999 down from original price of Rs 35,999. Xiaomi is yet to confirm if it’s a permanent price cut or a limited time discount.
To recap, the Mi MIX 2 was introduced in a single variant in India last October. The phone offers 6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage. Notably, Xiaomi introduced two versions of the Mi MIX 2- generic version built out of ceramic & aluminium and a Special Edition crafted entirely out of ceramic. The Chinese OEM, however, brought only the regular version to the Indian smartphone market.
That said, the Mi MIX 2 (Review) still looks elegant (ceramic and aluminium version) with an 18k gold plated camera ring on the rear side that adds an opulent touch. It features a 5.99-inch full HD+ (2160 x 1080 pixel resolution) edge-to-edge LCD display with 18:9 aspect ratio. The display has a pixel density of 403ppi and supports DCI-P3 colour gamut. It runs MIUI 9 based Android 7.1.2 Nougat. The dual SIM Mi MIX 2 is equipped with a 12MP Sony IMX386 primary sensor with 4-axis OIS, f/2.0 aperture and dual tone LED flash. The phone carries a 5MP front facing camera that supports facial recognition.
The Mi MIX 2 offers 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11c (dual band), USB Type-C port, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/A-GPS under its connectivity suite. The phone packs an industry standard 3400mAh battery that promises a decent backup. Xiaomi in November last year unveiled a Special Mi MIX 2 ‘Starck’ edition in China. The device only had a cosmetic upgrade with ‘Starck’ inscribed on the rear panel. The phone pegged similar specifications as the Mi MIX 2 all-ceramic version.
