Xiaomi’s most-waited Mi Mix 2 borderless flagship has geared up to be unveiled on September 11. There have been numerous leaks and rumours up to this point, indicating details like Snapdragon 836 SoC, Android Nougat based software, 4,500mAh battery, and more. Now, a new report has come out, according to which the device boasts of a different set of specifications.

As per the report, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 will feature Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box and run on Snapdragon 836 SoC under the hood. However, we aren’t able to verify the authenticity of this report, and given that launch is expected in less than ten days, it seems pretty unlikely that the device would be powered by Qualcomm’s yet to be announced Snapdragon 836 SoC. Additionally, chances of the smartphone running Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box are low too.

According to teasers, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 will feature ultra-thin bezels much like last year’s Mi Mix. It will reportedly feature a higher 93 percent screen-to-body ratio instead of 91.3 percent screen-to-body ratio found on its predecessor. However, it could still retain a similar 6.44-inch display and ceramic body. The original designer of the Mi Mix Philippe Starck recently shared a concept video last week, revealing ultra-thin bezels.

Previously rumoured specs suggest that the Mi Mix 2 will feature a 6.4-inch display, 4GB/6GB of RAM, Snapdragon 835 SoC, 128GB/256GB of storage, dual cameras, 4,500mAh battery and run Android 7.1.1 out of the box. The fingerprint sensor is said to employ underneath the display of the device.
