Xiaomi is hosting a launch event in New Delhi and teasing the launch on their social media channels with a tagline ‘Big is Back.’ Now that Xiaomi has rolled out media invites and given the tagline, we presume that the arrival of Mi Max 2, successor to last year’s Mi Max phablet, is more or less confirmed. The unique selling point of Xiaomi Mi Max 2 has to be a humongous 5,300mAh battery.
If you recall, the device initially became official in China a couple of months ago. Xiaomi Mi Max 2 boasts metal unibody design. It has a massive 6.44-inch screen featuring a 1080p Full HD resolution and 342 pixels packed into every inch. The screen is further protected by the layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 4 on top. The device comes in a couple of memory options: 64GB and 128GB of storage. Inside is a 14nm Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor, 4GB of RAM, and Adreno 506 GPU for graphics. It runs MIUI on top of Android Nougat.
Xiaomi Mi Max 2 houses a 12-megapixel rear shooter featuring IMX386 sensor. Up front, there is a 5-megapixel front shooter for selfies that accompanies beatify feature in addition to 85-degree wide-angle lens. It flaunts a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, which sits at the center. The phone supports stereo speakers, so the audio quality is expected to be impressive.
Given that Mi Max 2 packs in such a massive battery under the hood, it supports Quick Charge 3.0 to reduce the charging speed. Xiaomi claims to charge the device up to 68 percent in an hour. The standard set of connectivity options includes USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Xiaomi Mi Max 2 costs 1699 Yuan (approximately Rs 16,143) for 64GB of storage and 1999 Yuan (approximately Rs 18,993) for 128GB of storage.
