Xiaomi Mi Max 2 phablet has been launched in India. It is priced at Rs 16,999. Xiaomi Mi Max 2, which has succeeded last year’s Mi Max phablet, was first announced in China in May 2017. The biggest attraction, it comes with a massive 5,300mAh battery. Xiaomi Mi Max 2 flaunts a metal unibody measuring 7.6mm in thickness and weighing 211g, which undoubtedly falls under heavier side. It retains the 6.44 inch display, but there are a few things that are new and improved with the second generation Mi Max.

As far as specifications go, it sports a huge 6.44-inch screen featuring 1920×1080 pixels Full HD resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. The display further packs 342 pixels into every inch. Globally, it arrives in two variants: 64GB and 128GB of storage. The company, however, launched only 64GB model in India. Internally, the device is powered by 4GB of RAM, a 14nm Snapdragon 625 octa-core SoC, and an Adreno 506 GPU for graphics.

Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is a dual-SIM device, which supports Nano and Micro SIM cards. The storage is further expandable using a hybrid SIM slot. The phablet runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat software with the company’s MIUI 8 on top, with a promise of an upgrade to MIUI 9 when it launches. It houses a 12-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash. Up front is a 5-megapixel front shooter for selfies supporting beatify feature. There is also a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner in addition to stereo speakers.

Xiaomi Mi Max 2 packs in a huge 5,300mAh battery under the hood with Quick Charge 3.0, which is claimed to charge the device up to 68 percent in an hour. That aside, the set of connectivity options are 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and USB Type-C port.

Price and Launch Offers
The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is available for a price of Rs. 16,999 for the 4GB RAM-64GB storage variant. The phone goes on sale on 27 July 2017 and will be sold through both online and offline platforms. Besides Xiaomi’s own web store, you can order the device on Flipkart and Amazon. Those who prefer to buy the phone offline can go to Tata Cliq or Croma stores in their respective cities.
