First Xiaomi Mi Home Store is now in Chennai, the company announced on Twitter. Xiaomi’s fifth Mi Home Store is located at Forum Mall in Vadapalani, a neighbourhood in the city of Chennai in Tamil Nadu. Before opening the Mi Home Store in Chennai area, Xiaomi opened three stores in Bengaluru and one store in Delhi-NCR (Gurugram).

Xiaomi already said that it is planning to open Mi Hime Stores in Mumbai and Hyderabad. So, we can expect Xiaomi to open next Mi Home Stores in these two cities in the coming months. Xiaomi is also reportedly aiming to open hundred Mi Home Stores across the country in the next two years.

Xiaomi Mi Home Store aims to let customers both experience and buy products in a wide variety of categories such as smartphones, power banks, headphones, fitness bands, air purifiers, and everything that Xiaomi has launched in India. Xiaomi recently started accepting pre-orders for its smartphones at Rs. 999 and offering Mi In-Ear Headphones Basic worth Rs. 599.

Commenting on the first Mi Home Store launch, Xiaomi India chief Manu Kumar Jain said, We are extremely excited to announce the first ever Mi Home in India, marking yet another important milestone in Xiaomi’s India journey. Mi Home stores are built on our Internet+ new retail concept and will have efficiencies similar to the online channel.”

“We will provide a phenomenal user experience, where Mi Fans will be able to browse and experience our products first-hand at their leisure, before making a purchase. Setting up offline stores will also help to make our products more readily available for buyers across the country,” he added.
