Recently many reports have come out stating that Xiaomi is working closely with Google to launch an Android One smartphone. The device as per the reports allegedly will be the Xiaomi Mi A1. Xiaomi is going to have an event in India on September 5, where as the company has teased it will be launching a dual camera smartphone, this will not be the Xiaomi Mi 5X nor the Xiaomi Mi 6, if we believe the reports this will be a totally new smartphone altogether. Today, the Xiaomi Mi A1 was spotted on the benchmarking website Geekbench, thus to a point confirming that the new smartphone will be called the Xiaomi Mi A1.
The Geekbench listing shows that the phone will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC paired with 4GB of RAM. It will be running on Google’s Android 7.1.2 operating system. The phone got a score of 852 points in the single core test and 3,837 points in the multi-core test.
Interestingly, the Mi 5X also has a similar processor and the same amount of RAM, so maybe this will be a rebranded Xiaomi Mi 5X. However, the Mi 5X has a relatively higher score in the multi-core test on Geekbench, this could be due to the software running on the Mi A1 is the beta build software and the phone will ship with a proper build.
