Xiaomi today announced its latest flagship Xiaomi Mi 6 at the Beijing event. The new smartphone as rumours claimed is powered by a Snapdragon 835 processor and has 6GB of RAM, dual-rear camera setup.
Xiaomi Mi 6 Specifications and features
Xiaomi Mi 6 will be one of the first smartphone to integrate the latest Snapdragon 835 processor after Samsung’s new Galaxy S8 family and Sony’s latest premium lineup. The octa-core Qualcomm processor is fabricated with 10nm FinFET technology.
Talking about the display, the smartphone feature a small 5.15-inch full HD (1920×1080 resolution) LCD screen. The display has 600 nits brightness which can be reduced to 1 nit with the “ultra-dark night” mode. The fingerprint sensor is embedded on the front underneath the display. The phone has polished stainless steel frame. Xiaomi has also launched a Mi 6 Ceramic version that boasts a four-sided 3D glass design and 18K gold-plated rims on the back camera.
The dual-SIM Mi 6 is said to be ‘splash resistant’. The device is accompanied by a 3350mAh battery and features dual stereo speakers which are located at the bottom.
Xiaomi Mi 6 camera-
As leaks revealed, the Xiaomi Mi 6 features a dual-rear camera setup. The dual camera mounted on the top left end of the back panel feature a 12 MP wide-angle lens and a 12-megapixel “telephoto” lens that offer 2x lossless zoom. The primary camera has “portrait mode” as well that blurs the background objects and four-axis OIS (optical image stabilisation) for steady shots. On the front, it has an 8-megapixel front camera that captures 1080p videos at 30fps.
Xiaomi Mi 6 connectivity–
Xiaomi has ditched the traditional 3.5mm audio jack. The new device uses USB Type-C port both for audio and charging. The Mi 6 comes with 2.2 dual WiFi technology which is said to boost speed and coverage. Other options include- Bluetooth 5.0, 4G+, 4G, 3G and 2G support.
Price and availability–
The Xiaomi Mi 6 will be available in three variants- two regular model and a Mi 6 Ceramic version. The Xiaomi Mi 6 in China has been priced at CNY 2,499 (roughly Rs. 23,500) for the 6GB RAM and 64GB storage variant, and CNY 2,899 (around Rs. 27,000) for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage version. The Mi 6 Ceramic model comes with a price tag of CNY 2,999 (roughly Rs. 28,000) and offers 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. The flagship will be available in four colour options- Blue, Gold, Black and glossy Silver. The Xiaomi Mi 6 smartphone will go on sale in China on April 28.
Xiaomi has not shared any official detail on the availability of the Xiaomi Mi 6 in India yet, however with such aggressive pricing we expect the phone to hit the Indian smartphone market soon as the company has become one of the most the popular brand among the Indian consumers.
