Xiaomi is all set to launch its 2017 flagship Xiaomi Mi 6 in China today. The event is scheduled to take place at Beijing’s University Of Technology Gymnasium, 2pm CST local time (around 12pm IST). The Chinese OEM is expected to launch a bigger variant, Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus alongside the flagship smartphone Mi 6.

Over the past several weeks rumour mill had been churning out enough leaks on the upcoming flagship. The Xiaomi Mi 6 is tipped to carry the latest Snapdragon 835 system-on-chip, and teasers have hinted that the smartphone will feature the ‘already confirmed’ dual-camera setup and 6GB RAM. Surprisingly, press renders of the Xiaomi Mi 6 have surfaced online just ahead of the launch event. The leaked press renders which were spotted by Chinese publication MyDrivers shows off a device with ‘double glass sandwich’ design and dual rear camera setup. The image also indicates the fingerprint sensor to be located underneath the display.
Separately, the purported Xiaomi Mi 6 was also spotted on the GFXBench revealing the phone sporting 12-megapixel dual rear camera sensors, and a 5.1-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display. The listing also hints the alleged Mi 6 run Android 7.0 Nougat and will be powered by Snapdragon 835 chipset paired with Adreno 640 GPU. The device will pack 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage, and 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage as per the listing.
Besides, previous leak reports have suggested that the Mi 6 will reportedly be launched in two RAM/storage variants- 4GB of RAM + 64GB storage and 4GB + 128GB variants, which will be priced at CNY 2,199 (roughly Rs. 20,500), and CNY 2,599 (roughly Rs. 24,300), respectively. The bigger version, Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus, meanwhile, is tipped to come in 6GB of RAM + 64GB, 6GB + 128GB, and 6GB + 256GB variants, which will reportedly come with a price tag of CNY 2,699 (roughly Rs. 25,000), CNY 3,099 (roughly Rs. 28,990) and CNY 3,699 (roughly Rs. 34,600), respectively. Rumours also suggest that the Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus will feature a Quad HD 2K OLED display with dual curved edges and dual rear camera setup.
Notably, the flagship Xiaomi Mi 6 and Mi 6 Plus will be a Chinese exclusive as for now, and we will have to wait and see as on when Xiaomi decides to bring these smartphones in India.
