Xiaomi Mi 6, the upgrade of the flagship smartphone Mi 5 is expected to launch on February this year. The report comes from the microblogging website, Weibo which hints the flagship phone to launch on Valentine’s day at an event in China. With numerous leaks surfacing about the upcoming smartphone, Xiaomi Mi 6 is expected to sport a 5.2-inch display with 4K resolution (4096 x 2160 pixels). The phone will come with a 23-megapixel rear camera along with a 7-megapixel front camera.
As per the report from MySmartPrice (citing a source from Weibo) the Mi 6 will feature a 5.2-inch screen build with 2.5D curved glass with a metallic black. The phone is expected to come with 4GB RAM paired with 64GB internal storage. Rumours however reveal that the Mi 6 will sport a 16-megapixel dual camera set-up along with 4-megapixel front camera. It also suggests that the device will feature USB type-C port, 3000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support.
Leak renders of the Xiaomi Mi 6 display a device with a slim home button and a finger print scanner at the bottom. The camera module is pitched on the top left side on the rear side of the device along with a single LED flash. The colour of the back panel on the device looks slightly different than the top and the bottom strips.
Rumours also say that the successor of the smartphone Mi 5 will be powered by Qualcomm’s flagship processor Snapdragon 835 system on chip (SoC). Even though Samsung 2017 flagship smartphone Galaxy S8 is expected to be the first smartphone to come equipped with the new processor, GSMArena quoting an analyst iSuppli has claimed that Mi 6 will be the first smartphone to get the Snapdragon 835 chipset. If report turns out to be true, the launch date of Xiaomi Mi 6 might likely be pushed to March or April due to low rate production of the new 835 SoC.
