Xiaomi is all set to launch the upgrade Redmi Note 4 in India. As per a report from the blog called MakTechBlog the company will officially launch the Redmi Note 4 in India in January 2017. Redmi Note 3 the predecessor of the Redmi Note 4 was one of the bestselling devices in India.

Xiaomi, however has not confirmed any launch event for January. The Chinese technology company’s Redmi series did earn a good revenue in India in 2016. Xiaomi claims that over 2.3 million units of just the Redmi Note 3 smartphone have been sold in the country. As per the numbers from IDC, Redmi Note 3 was one of the most successful smartphone in India’s e-retailing, as such the company is likely expected to bring another Redmi smartphone soon in India.

In terms of design and specifications, Redmi Note 4 looks quite similar to the Redmi Note 3. However, the device will be powered with a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor instead of a MediaTek SoC which sells in China, considering the fact that the country has labelled a ban on the tech company has faced a ban on selling MediaTek devices in the country.

The Redmi Note 4 was already revealed in China in the ‘affordable’ mid-budget smartphone category. The phone features a metal unibody design and house a big 4,100 mAh battery. Unlike the Redmi Note 3, the smartphone has a USB-type C port. The smartphone comes in two storage variants- 2GB RAM with 16GB internal storage and 3GB RAM with 64GB internal storage. The Redmi Note 4 sports a 5.5-inch full HD (1920 x 1080 resolution) display with 2.5D curved glass. The Chinese version of the device comes powered with a 2.1GHz 10-core Helio X20 processor. The external storage is expandable up to 128GB via microSD card. The Redmi Note 4 runs on Android Marshmallow 6.0 with company’s latest MIUI 8 skin on top of it.

The smartphone sports a 13-megapixel primary camera and 5-megapixel front facing camera. The Note 4 has a finger-print sensor at the rear side of the device which can be used to pay for purchases and check private files. The smartphone is available in three colour variants in China.

The Redmi Note 4 comes for a price of 889 yuan for the 2GB RAM version which is approximately Rs 9,000. The 3GB RAM variant is priced at 1199 yuan which is around Rs 12,081.
