With teasers surfacing on the e-hub for a while, Xiaomi has finally confirmed to launch the Redmi Note 4 this week. Mi India head Manu Kumar Jain in his twitter account confirmed the launch of Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 in India on January 19. The smartphone will be available for purchase exclusively on Flipkart. The pricing and availability details are expected to be released at the launch event.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 already made its debut in China in August, 2016. The phone comes in two variants- 2GB RAM with 64GB on-board storage and 3GB RAM paired with 64GB internal storage. The 2GB RAM model is priced at CNY 899 (around Rs 9,000) while the 3GB RAM is tagged with a price of CNY 1,199 (approximately Rs 12,000).
The smartphone is available in three colour variants in China- Gold, Grey and Silver.
In terms of specifications, the Redmi Note 4 features a 5.5-inch full HD 2.5D curved glass display (1920×1080 resolution). It has a pixel density of 401ppi. The key highlight of the device is its meta build and deca-core MediaTek Helio X20 SoC. However, the company might launch Indian variant featuring a Qualcomm system on chip followed by the ban of MediaTek processor in the country. The Chinese variant is powered by a MediaTek Helio X20 coupled with Mali-T880 MP4 GPU and 4GB of RAM.
The smartphone runs Android Marshmallow with MIUI 8 skin layered on top of it. It sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with an aperture f/2.0, phase detection autofocus and dual-tone LED flash. The hybrid dual-SIM Redmi Note 4 comes with an expandable storage support of up to 128B via microSD card. The device has a battery back-up of 4,100mAh.
The phone includes 4G VoLTE, 3G, GPRS/EDGE, Bluetooth, GPS, micro-USB and GLONASS in its connectivity options. It measures 151 x 76 x 8.35mm and weighs 175 grams.
