After Hugo Barra, Xiaomi has now appointed Manu Kumar Jain as Xiaomi’s Global VP (Vice President). Jain was earlier leading company’s India operations and now he will still be the Managing Director of Xiaomi India alongside his new global position.
Manu Kumar Jain joined Xiaomi India back in June 2014. Before joining Xiaomi, he was known as the Co-founder and Managing Director of Jabong.
The company tweeted on Friday from official Mi India account noting “@manukumarjain, congratulations from the entire Xiaomi family on your promotion to Vice President of Xiaomi!”.

To which Jain replied in a tweet writing, “Thank You my phenomenal @xiaomi @XiaomiIndia family! I am so glad I got the opportunity to work with the best team on the planet.”

Earlier, Hugo Barra was the Global VP of Xiaomi. Barra last month announced its departure from Xiaomi and joined Facebook as the VP for the Virtual Reality team. The announcement was made by CEO and Founder of Mark Zuckerberg.
Xiaomi has been doing well in India since it’s arrival to the country. Earlier this wee only, the company announced that it has now become the number two vendor in the smartphone market as per IDC Q4 report, and it continues to dominate online smartphone market with number 1 position in Q4 2016. The company said it sold more than three million units of Redmi 3S (includes Redmi 3S, Redmi 3S Prime and Redmi 3S+) in less than six months.
