WhatsApp has finally rolled out the new “pinned chats” feature for all Android users. The feature which was earlier made available to Android Beta users can now be downloaded from the Google Play Store.
While the feature was previously in testing under beta phase, its arrival might at present confuse users as to what does this new feature do or how does it work.
So what exactly does WhatsApp “pinned chats” do?
The new pinned chats feature will be helpful for those whose devices constantly pop-out messages all throughout the day and they often forget to keep a track of it. The feature lets users to pin their most important conversation heads on top above all other chats. However, it can pin up only up to 3 chats.
“With pinned chats, you never have to worry about scrolling through the long list of conversations to text your family members or your best friend. Users can now pin up to three of the most important group or individual chats to the top of their chat list for easy access – simply tap and hold a chat, and then tap the pin icon at the top of your screen,” WhatsApp said in a press statement.
How does WhatsApp “pinned chat” works?
You can also unpin these WhatsApp conversation heads by long pressing on the chat. The unpin option will then pop up on the screen on top and you can disable just by clicking it. To keep in mind, users will to get the new “pinned chats” feature will have to update WhatsApp to its latest version from Google Play.
