    • With this feature users can add a total of four other people to a call
    • This feature is currently in beta

WhatsApp could be on the verge to add a new feature, which may allow users add up to five people on a group call. Meaning, up to 5 people can connect over WhatsApp at the same time. According to a new report on WABetaInfo, a new update for WhatsApp Messenger for Android beta could have been rolled out with this feature.

If the report is to be believed, you shall see an option ‘Add person’ in the top right corner during the call. Upon tapping the option, you can choose up to 3 more people from your contact list. This way, it will turn into a conference call.

It isn’t clear at the time of writing this whether it applies to voice calls or video calls or both. However, the report goes to show a screenshot of a video call.

Upon digging into a WhatsApp Messenger for Android beta ourselves, we couldn’t spot any such feature. A possibility is that WhatsApp maybe currently experimenting with a select group of users. More details are awaited on that front.
