WhatsApp has updated its iPhone app to help its users helps you customise, organise, send, and receive images. WhatsApp has dubbed this update as v2.17.30. WhatsApp with this new update has introduced photo filters, automatic albums, and a new reply shortcut.
This new update allows iPhone users to add colour filters to the media that is being shared in chats. You can do this simply by selecting an image you want to share and swiping up. Currently, only five filters are available, but hopefully, WhatsApp might add more.
Also, WhatsApp has introduced automatic grouping of images sent in chats to save on the space utilised by the images in a chat. This new feature has been dubbed as automatic photo albums. Apart from the colour filters and automatic album grouping, a new gesture has been added to act as a shortcut for replies in iOS chats. You will just have to swipe right on specific chats to get the option of quick reply.
“When users send or receive a collection of five or more photos or videos, they will automatically be grouped together as an album, creating a tile display within messages. When users tap on the album, they will see the collection of photos and videos in full screen” the company said in a statement.
Currently, these features are only available to iOS users, and WhatsApp hasn’t said a word on when and if Android users will be getting these features or not.
The update is currently available in the App Store for download.
