HMD Global is apparently on the verge of expanding its existing lineup of flagship Nokia phones. Earlier, the company announced Nokia 8 in India at a price of Rs 36,999, which turned out be pretty decent in our in-depth review.
Now, a mysterious Nokia handset bearing the model number TA-1005, allegedly Nokia 9, has passed FCC certification in the U.S. It more or less suggests that the next Nokia flagship could be just around the corner.
From what is known so far, Nokia 9 is expected with following model numbers: TA-1042, TA-1005 and TA-1009, implying different memory configurations. However, the recent FCC clearance show 128GB internal storage and Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.
Things to expect with the upcoming flagship Nokia 9:
Specs-wise, the previous Nokia 8 was no less than a powerhouse. So it’s pretty obvious, Nokia 9 may carry forward HMD’s flagship tradition with identical features and specifications to some extent.
Nokia 9 is likely to sport a 5.5-inch OLED screen, thanks to LG display. As a result, this could be the first Nokia smartphone to feature OLED screen.
As per the information gathered from FCC, Nokia 9 shall sport Qualcomm’s top-end Snapdragon 835 SoC (similar to its predecessor), in addition to 3250mAh battery with fast charging support.
Camera-wise, Nokia 9 shall carry a dual rear snapper and 5MP front-facing shooter for selfies and video calls. The details about RAM and display resolution are not yet available. It’s expected to arrive early 2018, most probably at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona.
