Vivo today launched its Vivo Y69 smartphone which focuses on taking selfies like the company’s other devices do. The unique selling proposition (USP) of the smartphone is its 16-megapixel front camera paired with the company’s moonlight glow LED light for taking selfies. The phone is priced at Rs. 14,990 and will start selling in India from September 1. The device will be an online exclusive smartphone and will sell on both the major e-tailers of the country, Flipkart and Amazon. The smartphone will go up against the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 and the Moto G5 Plus amongst other devices.
The company has also highlighted that the device will have bokeh modes and group selfie modes for its front camera. On the rear, the Vivo Y69 sports a 12-megapixel camera which supports features like Live Photo Mode, Face Beauty Mode, HDR Mode, Night Mode and Pro Mode. The device as we can see by the camera specifications focuses heavily on them to sell their devices.
The Vivo Y69 sports a 5.5-inch HD IPS display with a resolution of 720×1280 pixels, the screen comes with Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top. It is powered by MediaTek’s MT6570 octa-core processor with a clock speed of 1.5GHz. The device comes with 3GB of RAM along with 32GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to with the help of a microSD card. The phone also comes with a fingerprint sensor integrated into the home button just below the display. The Vivo Y69 runs on Google’s Android Nougat 7.0 operating system with the company’s own Funtouch OS 3.2 skin on top.
As for connectivity, the Vivo Y69 supports 4G LTE, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, and A-GPS. All of this is powered by a 3,000mAh non-removable battery with no support for fast charging. The company will make the device available in two colour options – Champagne Gold and Matte Black.
