Vivo is gearing up to launch a new smartphone under its X-series, the Vivo X20 later this month. As per reports, the company has started sending invites for a smartphone launch event that is said to take place in China on September 21.
The invite spotted by Android Pure reveals a handset featuring bezel-less design with a slight cut-out on top for front-facing camera and sensors. Previously, purported images of the X20 was found on the Chinese certification authority database, TENAA. The smartphone was listed with model numbers Vivo X20 and X20A (supposedly the Plus variant). The listing also revealed a dual camera arrangement and a fingerprint sensor on the rear panel.
As for the specifications, the Vivo X20 is tipped to sport a 5.2-inch full HD display. The supposedly big variant, X20 Plus is said to feature a 5.5-inch 1080p display. Reports suggest that the device could likely carry Qualcomm’s latest mobile platform, Snapdragon 660 SoC clocked at 2.2GHz. It might run Android 7.1.1 Nougat. Further the smartphones are expected to offer 6GB of RAM and pack a battery capacity of 3500mAh. The Vivo X20 and X20 Plus are tipped to sport 24-megapixel front cameras.
Separately, an all-black Mars edition of the Vivo X20 also appeared on Chinese micro-blogging site, Weibo. Apart from the colour other details about this Mars edition is scarce right now. But we believe more leaks on this upcoming X-series smartphone will surface on the e-hub before its official announcement.
