Both Vivo V7 Plus and Vivo V5 Plus boast of a humongous selfie camera. But there’s a huge difference between both the phones. Newly unveiled V7 Plus houses a massive 24MP camera with f/2.0 aperture while Vivo V5 Plus has a dual 20MP+8MP front shooter with f/2.0 aperture. Both of them accompany Moonlight selfie flash in order to produce clear selfies. Moving to primary sensor, both Vivo V5 Plus and Vivo V7 Plus offer 16MP rear shooter with f/2.0 aperture and LED flash. Vivo V5 Plus rear shooter is backed by several camera modes and features like Normal, Panorama, HDR, Night, PPT, Pro, Ultra HD Photos, Palm Capture, Face Beauty, Voice Capture, Camera Filter, Fast, Slow, Sport Mode, Timer, Touch Capture, Video, and 4K Recording. Vivo V7 Plus, meanwhile, only offers Ultra HD, PPT, Professional, Slow, and Time-Lapse. Front cameras on both the devices offer similar modes and features with some of them being Normal, Face Beauty, Group selfie, Portrait mode, LIVEOn, Watermark, Touch Capture, Voice Capture, Palm Capture, Timer, Mirrored Selfie, and Videos. During our Vivo V5 Plus selfie camera review, we could see that the blending is done very efficiently and the algorithm picks up edges of subjects very well and can produce some very good depth-of-field selfies.

Vivo V5 has a 5.5-inch Full HD display whereas its successor sports a bigger 5.99-inch Full HD display. Vivo V7 Plus offers a FullView display, featuring super narrow bezels on top as well as the bottom and 84.4% screen-to-body ratio, and 18:9 aspect ratio. This way, the company has made enough room for extra real estate so that user can consume more content. During our Vivo V5 Plus display review, we found out that it offers an excellent experience in terms of viewing angles, which is typical of IPS displays.

Powering the V5 Plus is a Qualcomm’s power-efficient Snapdragon 625 SoC. Meanwhile, Vivo V7 Plus runs on Qualcomm’s newly unveiled Snapdragon 450 SoC. Unfortunately, there are no enough phones in the market that run on SD 450 chipset. So, we’ll need to put it through an in-depth test before we assume anything about its performance. Both the phones pack 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage under the hood, which is further expandable via microSD. During our Vivo V5 Plus performance review, we couldn’t call the graphic rendering top-notch, but it’s decent enough to perform well in day to day operations.

Vivo V7 Plus Vs Vivo V5 Plus: Software

When Vivo announced V5 Plus, it came running Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. Seven long months have passed since then and yet there is no sign of Android Nougat so far. Vivo seems to have addressed this with its latest offering. Vivo V7 Plus runs Android 7.1 Nougat with its custom FunTouch OS on top. Vivo V5 Plus comes with several social networking apps pre-installed on the device like Google Duo, Facebook WhatsApp, and WeChat. That has apparently changed with V7 Plus since it comes with less number of social networking apps pre-installed on the phone. In spite of that, there’s no sign of relief for users since it has added two new apps such as WPS office and Saavn. So, basically both the devices come with the same amount of bloatware. During our Vivo V5 Plus software review, we concluded by saying that software isn’t one of the most refined ones, and is a very confusing mix of iOS and Android. We are yet to assess Vivo V7 Plus software performance.

Vivo V7 Plus Vs Vivo V5 Plus: Battery

Vivo V5 Plus packs a 3,055mAh battery under the hood while Vivo V7 Plus goes around carrying a slightly bigger 3,225mAh battery. During our standard Vivo V5 Plus battery performance review, we could start the day by unplugging the Vivo V5 Plus after a full charge at 10 in the morning, and the battery could easily last us through the day and even late into the night.
