Vivo sent out press invitations today for the launch of it’s new selfie-centric smartphone – the Vivo V5s. While there are no official specifications available for the V5s as of now, it is very likely that the company will get the same V5 smartphone with little updated specs in selfie camera department.
The Vivo V5s is more likely to come with a front 20-megapixel camera to tackle the competition from Gionee A1. (Check our Gionee A1 Review: Great selfie with a big battery). Gionee had launched the A1 recently with 20-megapixel front camera at a price of Rs. 19,999.
Other than that, the V5s may feature a full-HD (1080p) display than the 720p HD display seen on V5 (Review) and it most likely could be a 2.5D curved glass panel too. Rest all specifications are expected to remain same. The V5s could be powered by same MediaTek MT6750 chipset coupled with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The primary camera will be a 13-megapixel camera sensor with PDAF and f/2.2 aperture. Also, the handset is likely to pack 3,000mAh battery, but then we might see some change here as well.
In January, Vivo launched the V5 Plus smartphone in India for a price of Rs 27,980. The highlight of the smartphone was its dual-selfie camera setup (features a 20-megapixel and an 8-megapixel sensor). Other specifications of V5 Plus included a 16-megapixel primary camera, a 5.5-inch full-HD IPS LCD display, octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor with 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage.
