HTC will be taking the wraps off a new smartphone (perhaps two) from the U line up tomorrow. But as the upcoming smartphone launch is approaching information regarding the event or the devices are spilling more frequent than often be it from the company or the notable leaksters. While a Plus variant of the flagship HTC U11 is widely expected, HTC has tweeted a teaser video giving a hint that the Edge Sense feature will be included in the upcoming HTC smartphone.

The teaser video comes with the launch event date along with the caption, “Even more squeezed in” that clearly refers to HTC’s Edge Sense feature. Notably, HTC made a similar move before the official launch of its flagship smartphone HTC U11 posting a teaser video that outed details about the squeeze feature.

For those unaware, the Edge Sense feature basically allows users to squeeze sides (bottom half) of the device to perform various actions. The feature that acts as a convenience key allows you to open the camera app, Google Assistant or send messages.

Rumour mill suggests that the Taiwanese tech company might bring a Plus variant of the HTC U11 called the HTC U11 Plus. This time around the new HTC handset is expected to feature a minimal bezel display. The phone is tipped to come with a 6-inch display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. It could have Snapdragon 835 processor and come in two RAM/storage version- 4GB RAM/64GB onboard storage and 8GB RAM/128GB native storage. The U11 Plus is expected to run the latest Google Android OS, Android 8.0 Oreo. The famous tipster Evan Blass yesterday posted a tweet saying that the U11 Plus could come in three colour choices- Silver, Black and Translucent. The device is expected to carry a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

Apart from the U11 Plus, reports suggest that HTC might unveil a mid-range U series smartphone, HTC U11 Life. The phone is said to have Edge Sense feature. Reports also cite that the upcoming device might be the first Android One phone from HTC. The U11 Life is tipped to sport a 5.2-inch display, Snapdragon 630 processor, 16MP camera both front and rear. It is expected to employ a 2600mAh battery and ship with Android 7.1.1 Nougat with HTC Sense skin.
