Ulefone Armor 2 rugged smartphone, the successor to last year’s Armor, has been announced. First thing first, the device comes with its unique casing, affecting its form factor to a massive extent. Design-wise, it measures 14.5mm in thickness and weighs 270g. According to Ulefone Mobile, Armor 2’s ruggedness exists thanks to flexible TPU, glass fiber reinforced polycarbonate and metal, which it believes shall protect the device from drops or falls. It is also IP68 rated dust and waterproof to be submerged in water up to 1.5-meter for about an hour.
As far as specifications are concerned, the Ulefone Armor 2 sports a 5-inch Full HD (1,920 x 1,080) screen with 441 ppi pixel density and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Inside is a 2.6GHz MediaTek Helio P25 octa-core SoC coupled with 6GB of RAM and Mali-T880 GPU for graphics. It offers 64GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 256GB using microSD. The dual-SIM phone runs Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box. The device comes in two Dark Grey and Gold colours.

As for photography, the Ulefone Armor 2 houses a 16-megapixel rear shooter with dual-tone LED flash and f/2.0 aperture. Up front is an 8-megapixel selfie shooter (interpolated to a 13-megapixel) with f/2.0 aperture. The device houses a fingerprint sensor and barometer. On the connectivity front, it features 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, USB Type-C, and NFC for secure payments. The phone packs in a 4,700mAh battery with fast charging support.
The Ulefone Armor 2 will be available for pre-order starting August 15. Although the company is yet to reveal its exact price details, the phone is expected to carry a price tag of $269.99, which roughly converts at Rs 17,305.
