    • Uber riders will be able to use stickers of their ETA (estimated time travel)
    • Uber adds its own mystery filters

After making a complete retread on its app user interface in November last year, Uber has now integrated Snapchat on its ride sharing app for its Indian riders. With the Snapchat filters, the users will now be able to send snaps with their contacts during their ride on Uber.

The custom Snapchat filters will also let users to use stickers of their estimated time of arrival (ETA) or take a picture and share it with their friends. Uber has even brought its own mystery filter that will add a surprise element on the user’s photograph. However, users will be able to use these filters only during Uber ride.

If you want to use the Snapchat filters while taking a ride on Uber, here’s how to use it-

  • Tap on the Uber feed where you will see a Snap card.
  • Select the type of filter you want to unlock, click a selfie and swipe right.

Uber has also given an option for the users to use Uber filters with another Snap lens for ‘double the fun’. To keep in mind, Uber riders can use the Snapchat filters on the Uber app only if they are ‘existing’ Snapchat users.

Speaking on the launch, Apurva Dalal, Head of Engineering, Uber India said, “In our new rider app, we start with the question ‘Where to’ so we can get riders to their destination as fast as possible. However besides helping riders get to their destinations, we want to focus on the trip experience itself and make sure riders enjoy the journey. Technology is helping us personalize every ride, making the experience fun and delightful. With this integration, our riders can now Snap along the way and share their Uber moments with friends and family.”

Uber will begin a ‘phased roll out’ of its Snapchat custom filters starting today in India and it will be made available on both Android and iOS platform.
