Twitter in a move to garner more smartphone users has launched two new features for its mobile apps and mobile website – a Share button and a Bookmarks tab. The rollout of the update has already started for the Android, iOS normal and Lite apps and the mobile website of Twitter.
The company has claimed that the updates have been implemented because a number of users have asked for these features. Just a thought I had, if Twitter gives the users what they want, then why not give the Edit Tweet button which users have been asking for years now?
“Thank you for being part of this process – your feedback was valuable in building this update, and it made it all the more fun for us as we built a new feature for you. As a result, we all have an easier way to save, share, and stay informed,”
said Jesar Shah, Product Manager at Twitter commenting on customer feedback for the implementation of these new features.
When users update their smartphone app, they will be greeted with a new Share button instead of the Send to DM button below the tweets. The new Share button will consist of the following options – Send via Direct Message, Add Tweet to Bookmarks and Share Tweet via.
To access the saved bookmarks, users will have to open the Bookmarks tab from the menu located under the profile button. The rollout of these new features will be happening during this week.
