    • Sony will be holding a press event on August 31
    • It is being reported that the company will launch three new smartphones
    • A Twitter leakster today leaked the press renders of the Sony Xperia XZ1

Sony has sent out invites for a press event it will be hosting just a day before IFA 2017 starts. It has been reported that the company will be unveiling the Xperia XZ1, XZ1 Compact and the X1 at the event. As per previous reports, the Sony Xperia XZ1 and XZ1 Compact will be the flagship device offerings from the company for the year 2017 and the Sony Xperia X1 will be a budget offering from them.

Today, the Twitter leakster Roland Quandt tweeted out press renders of the Sony Xperia XZ1 in two colours. He had previously also leaked the alleged prices of the Xperia XZ1 and XZ1 Compact. These press renders seem to match the hands-on images that were leaked earlier, which makes us believe that this might be the actual smartphone that Sony might unveil, but we still caution you to take this news with a pinch of salt, as the company is yet to unveil the devices.

The images posted on his twitter show the device in two colour options – Black and Pink. The leaked press renders show the device from both back and front. On the front, we can see that a dual front speaker setup, the Sony branding, front camera, and the display. On the back of the device, we can see the camera setup with an LED Flash and NFC branding along with the Xperia branding in the middle of the device. The Volume, camera shutter and the power buttons are placed on the right edge of the smartphone, and the SIM  tray is on the left edge.

Sony launched a total of four new smartphones during MWC 2017 and was very prompt in bringing the devices to India. Hopefully, this will also be the case with these smartphones.
