Smartron has appointed Amit Boni as company’s Vice President Sales & Marketing for India. At this role, Boni will be responsible for overall brand building and heading the sales & marketing functions for Smartron, said company in a press statement.
Before joining Smartron, Boni was a part of Motorola India for seven years. He served the company at various senior executive positions including his last role as India head. Recently, Sudhin Mathur from Lenovo replaced Amit Boni as Motorola India Head.
Commenting on the new role as VP, Sales and Marketing with Smartron, Amit Boni said, “It’s a great honor to join Smartron, the company that truly designs and engineers product in India. I am very excited to be a part of this company and work towards shaping the future of this authentic brand.”
Smartron is an Indian IoT startup which was founded in 2014 by Mahesh Lingareddy. The company roped in Sachin Tendulkar as brand ambassador after him investing an undisclosed sum of funds in Samartron last year in March. The company has a vision for innovative products and wants to disrupt the IoT market. So far we have seen products like Smartron t.phone and 2-in-1 t.book from the company. It is also rumoured to launch exclusive Sachin Tendulkar-branded mobile phone series in April.
