Samsung has launched its ‘Tizen-powered’ 4G smartphone, Samsung Z4 at an event in India today. Priced at Rs. 5,790, the Samsung Z4 smartphone will be available in the offline retail stores starting May 19. Samsung is offering an additional back cover with the new phone, besides the Gold back cover case that comes along with the device.
The new Samsung Z4 smartphone features a small 4.5-inch WVGA (480×800 resolution) display with 2.5D curved glass on top. The phone is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM. Samsung says that UI on the new Z4 is ‘optimised for seamless performance’. The device packs 8GB onboard storage which is further expandable up to 128GB. It carries a 2050mAh battery which is further boosted by Samsung’s ‘Ultra Power Saving mode’.
One of the important aspects of this affordable smartphone is its camera that offers a 5-megapixel sensor at the back and a 5-megapixel sensor up front. The rear camera supports dual-LED flash while the front facing camera comes with f/2.2 aperture and LED flash for better selfies in low light condition. Samsung claims that the camera software in the smartphone is being designed to offer best editing options ‘within the camera viewfinder.’
The Samsung Z4 also comes with ‘Make in India’ features that provide localized solutions for Indian consumers and include S Bike Mode and My Monet Transfer. The phone even enables the user to access the latest news in the preferred local language with a simple swipe on the home screen. The Samsung Z4 runs Tizen OS 3.0 and supports 4G VoLTE. Connectivity options on the phone include- Wi-FI 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0 and GPS. The device measures 132.9×69.2×10.33mm and weigh 143 grams.
The Samsung Z4 is the fourth edition of Samsung’s ‘Z’ series and evidently, India will be the first market where this new Tizen OS-based smartphone will go on sale.
