Samsung’s highly anticipated smartphone is buzzing on the grapevine again, and the leak is revealed by none another than popular tipster Evan Blass. The tipster has put out a latest tweet revealing two display variants of the next flagship Galaxy S8. According to his tweet, the upcoming smartphone base variant will feature a 5.8-inch display while the bigger variant dubbed as the Galaxy S8+ is said to sport a 6.2-inch display. Both the smartphones will carry Samsung’s AMOLED display.
I’ve been seeing this misreported quite a bit, so, just to clarify:
GS8 – 5.8″ QHD
GS8+ – 6.2″ QHD
Both displays are, ofc, SAMOLED.

The tipster had also shared the renders of the new smartphone earlier, giving us a sneak peek of the Galaxy S8 design. The purported image of the smartphone revealed the fingerprint scanner located on the rear panel next to the camera module. Blass also claimed that the Galaxy S8 will be running on two different processors, one with the latest Snapdragon 835 processor fabricated with 10nm FinFET technology, while the other with Samsung’s own Exynos SoC (system-on-chip), a processor mostly seen in the Indian smartphone market. The phone will come with pressure sensitive technology that will be capable of distinguishing different pressure put on the display.
Early in January, Samsung put out promotional videos for its Display Vision, disclosing a smartphone probably the Galaxy S8 with thin bezels on the top and bottom and no home button on the front panel.
Although the South Korean manufacturer is planning to introduce bigger screen size flagships this time, previous reports claim that Samsung might not increase the battery size for its upcoming 2017 smartphones. According to a report by The Investor, Galaxy S8 is said to come with a 3000mAh battery, meanwile the Galaxy S8+ will pack a 3500mAh battery. Notably, Samsung’s previous flagship Galaxy S7 carried the same 3000mAh battery while the Galaxy S7 Edge is backed by a 3600mAh battery.
The company will reportedly bring 6GB RAM on the Galaxy S8 with 64GB onboard storage. A 128GB variant is also expected to be introduced alongside. The new flagship will compete with the Cupertino giant’s next iPhone 8, however the Galaxy S8 is tipped to sport a single 12-megapixel camera with Dual Pixel technology unlike Apple iPhone’s dual-camera setup.
The latest rumour suggest that Samsung’s voice-assistant ‘Bixby’ could support up to eight languages and might also work on Samsung home appliances and other devices. The AI assistant is said to integrate with third parties as well.
Samsung has already confirmed that the Galaxy S8 smartphone is not going to be announced at this month’s Mobile World Congress which suggests that we will have to gulp more leaks and rumours until is official launch. According to recent reports, the company might unveil the smartphone at an event in New York on March 29.
