Samsung launches affordable 4G smartphones Galaxy J1 and Galaxy J2 Ace in India

Samsung has announced two new entry-level smartphones in India, the Galaxy J2 Ace and Galaxy J1. The 4G enabled smartphone cost Rs 8,490 and Rs 6,890 respectively.

Samsung has launched two entry-level smartphones in India last week. The 4G enabled Galaxy J2 Ace and Galaxy J1 cost Rs 8,490 and Rs 6,890 respectively.

With Galaxy J1 already spotted on the company’s website in the first week, the Galaxy Ace J2 makes new entry in J-series line up. The new smartphones are a fragment of the Samsung’s ‘Make in India’ project. It features S-bike mode, and S Power Planning. However, S Secure and Turbo technology are available only on Galaxy J2 Ace.

The Galaxy Ace J2 features front flash and Ultra Data Saving (UDS) that offers up to 50 per cent mobile data savings with data compression. The Galaxy J1 on the other hand is one of the most affordable smartphones to feature Super AMOLED display. The new Galaxy J2 Ace is available in three colour options- gold, black and silver. While the Galaxy J1 4G comes in black, gold and white colour variant.

Samsung Galaxy J2 Ace packs a large 5-inch screen, while the Galaxy J1 features a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED display. Galaxy J2 Ace has an 8-megapixel camera with f/2.2 aperture and flash. The front-flash camera has a 5-megapixel sensor and comes with f/2.2 aperture.

The Galaxy J2 Ace runs on Android Marshmallow 6.0. it is powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core processor paired with 1.5GB RAM and 8GB internal storage. It comes with a battery back-up of 2,600mAh and supports Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi direct, USB 2.0, GPS and GLONASS. Sensor options include Accelerometer and Proximity.

The Samsung Galaxy J1 4G is powered by quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop. The phone packs 1GB of RAM paired with 8GB on-board storage which is expandable up to 128GB via microSD card. It features a 5-megapixel primary camera with flash and f/2.2 aperture. The front sports a 2-megapixel sensor with f/2.2 aperture. It packs a 2,050 mAh battery. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. Wi-Fi Direct, USB 2.0, GPS and GLONASS. Sensors include Accelerometer and Proximity.
