Looks like Samsung is taking page out of Xiaomi and Oneplus’s books by launching the Samsung J3 Pro as a Paytm exclusive. International Data Corporation reports that the J series by Smasung is the largest selling smartphone range in the Indian market, so limiting the J3 Pro’s availability to just one sale channel might actually work out in PayTM and Samsung’s favour, as long as they have enough inventory to meet demands.
Samsung Galaxy S3 Pro is powered by a Sanpdragon 430 quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM. It has a 5-inch SuperAMOLED display with a 1280×720 resolution, which puts its pixel density at a decent 294 ppi. The phone comes with just 16GB on on-board storage, but it can be expanded to 128GB via microSD card. The imaging duties are performed by a 8megapixel camera on the back and a 5 megapixel front facing camera. The Samsung J3 Pro will retail for a price of Rs. 8,490 and will be available in gold, black and white colour options.
“This is the first time Samsung is launching an online exclusive product, Galaxy J3 Pro, on Paytm Mall. Galaxy J3 Pro delivers powerful performance, outstanding display and also packs in consumer centric features developed at our R&D centers in India,” Sandeep Singh Arora, Vice President, Online Business, Samsung India, said in a release statement.
The Samsung J3 Pro will be a PayTM exclusive, although there is no telling if that will continue to be the case in the future. Additionally, would this be setting a precedent in the Samsung camp, to make certain phones exclusive to a particular e-retailer? Regardless of the future, for now, the Samsung J3 Pro can be purchased exclusively from PayTM starting April 6.
