Samsung has announced the Galaxy A (2017) series smartphones ahead of CES, 2017. The Galaxy A7, A5 and A3 features IP68 water and dust resistance. The A series comes with reversible USB type-C and supports Fast Charge technology. The smartphones on-board storage is expandable up to 256GB via microSD card.
The design of the Galaxy A (2017) series features metal frame and curve 3D glass on the rear. Other features include Always-on display mode which allows user to view time and calendar without switching on the screen. The Near Field Communication (NFC) with support for Samsung Pay enables safe and secure mobile payments. With Samsung Cloud users, can back up data and image and separate private data keeping the contents safe in a Secure folder which supports biometric authentication.
The smartphones sport ‘enhanced’ 16megapixel rear and front camera which the company claims to be more ‘stable with accurate autofocus. Unlike its predecessors, the imaging segment is optimized to deliver better performance in low light conditions.

The Galaxy A3 2017 features a 4.7-inch HD Super AMOLED display. Powered by Octa Core processor clocked at 1.6GHz with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage, the device runs on Android 6.0.16 Marshmallow. It is backed by 2,350 mAh battery The rear camera comes with a 13-megapixel sensor with LED flash and f/1.9 aperture. The front camera is 8-megapixel with f/1.9 aperture. The dual SIM smartphone supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v4.2, ANT+, USB type-C, NFC. Sensors option include Accelerometer, Proximity, Geomagnetic, RGB Light, Hall, Fingerprint scanner, Barometer.
The Galaxy A5 2017 house a bigger screen size than the Galaxy A3 2017. It features a 5.2-inch full HD Super AMOLED display. The device runs on Android Marshmallow 6.0.16. Powered by a 1.9GHz octa-core processor, the device is coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB on-board storage. The Galaxy A5 (2017) house a 16-megapixel primary camera with f/1.9 aperture and a 16-megapixel front camera with f/1.9 aperture. It has a battery back-up of 3000mAh. The dual SIM device supports Wi-Fi 801.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v4.2, ANT+, USB type-C, NFC. The phone carries the sensor options like the Galaxy A3 2017.
Amongst the three smartphones, the Galaxy A7 2017 is pinched with the biggest screen size. The smartphone house a 5.7-inch full HD Super AMOLED display. It is powered by 1.9GHz octa-core processor coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. The dual SIM device sports the same 16megapixel front and rear camera like the Galaxy A5 (2017) with f/1.9 aperture. The Samsung Galaxy A7 has a battery back-up of 3600mAh. It supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v4.2, ANT+, NFC, USB type-C. Sensors include Accelerometer, Barometer, Proximity, Geomagnetic, RGB Light, Hall and Fingerprint scanner.
The Galaxy A series which is available in Black Sky, Gold Sand, Blue Mist and Peach Cloud colour variants will be up for sale in Russia in early January, with the smartphones hitting the shelves in Asian market later this month, followed by Europe in February.
