Samsung today launched its Galaxy Tab A (2017) in India which the company is calling as the “entertainment powerhouse”. It is a mid-range offering the tablet category from Samsung and succeeds the Galaxy Tab A (2016). It is available in two colour options – Gold and Black. The company has priced this mid-range tablet at Rs. 17,990 and will be available across the company starting today.
It sports an 8-inch display with a resolution of 1280×800 pixels and is powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core processor. It comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage expandable up to 256GB via microSD card. The tablet comes with a metal back, and the company claims that its display is bright enough to be visible in bright sunlight. It comes running with Google’s Android 7.1 Nougat out-of-the-box. All of this is backed by a 5,000mAh battery which the company claims to provide up to 14 hours of video playback.
As for the camera, the Galaxy Tab A (2017) comes with an 8-megapixel primary shooter with an LED flash. On the front, we get to see a 5-megapixel selfie camera. The main highlight of the tablet is the new Bixby Home support that it comes with, as this is the first mid-range tablet from the company to come with the AI-enabled digital voice assistant.
The company is also offering the customers of the new Galaxy Tab A (2017) will be getting 180GB of extra 4G data over a year on the Reliance Jio network. Additionally, the customers who purchase this tablet between October 10 and November 9 will also be getting a one-time screen replacement at Rs. 990 and is valid for one year.
