Samsung India today officially launched a new variant of the premium flagship Samsung Galaxy S8+. The Galaxy S8+ will now be available with 6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage. The phone was launched in India in single variant- 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage.
The new variant will be available in Midnight Black colour and consumers can pre-book the new Galaxy S8+ on Samsung Store and Flipkart starting from June 2. Samsung is also giving an introductory offer whereby customers will be eligible for a free Wireless Charger.
To refresh, Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ were officially introduced on March 29 this year. The Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8+ in India packs company’s own octa-core Exynos 9 (Exynos 8895) chipset which is based on 10nm FinFET technology. The Galaxy S8 features a 5.8-inch dual-curved edge display while the larger variant S8+ boasts of a 6.2-inch dual-curved 2K screen. Both have Super AMOLED ‘Infinity Display’ with 18:9 aspect ratio and 1440×2960 pixels resolution with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ pack 3000mAh and 3500mAh non-removable batteries respectively.
Both smartphones feature same 12-megapixel ‘Dual Pixel’ rear camera with LED Flash with OIS and f/1.7 aperture, whereas the front sports an 8-megapixel auto focus camera with f/1.7 aperture and 80-degree wide-angle lens.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 is priced in India at Rs. 57,900, while the Samsung Galaxy S8+ costs for Rs. 64,900. The new 128GB variant of the Galaxy S8+ meanwhile is priced at Rs. 74,990 and it will be made available across India from June 9.
