Samsung has officially announced the launch date of its latest 2017 flagship smartphones – the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the Samsung Galaxy S8+ – for India. The two smartphones will launch next Wednesday on April 19.
The South Korean company had launched the two S8 series smartphones during MWC in February. Initially, Samsung only introduced 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant of Galaxy S8 & S8+, but last week it also got a new 6GB RAM variant of the Galaxy S8+ for the Korean home market.

We do not expect 6GB RAM variant to launch in India, but the 4GB models are certainly on cards. Also, it will feature company’s own Exynos 9 (Exynos 8895) chipset and not Snapdragon 835. Samsung’s SoC is also based on 10nm FinFET technology.
Other specifications for Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ include a 5.8 & 6.2-inch Super AMOLED ‘Infinity Display’ with 18:9 aspect ratio and 1440×2960 pixels resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection respectively. The rear camera on the device is a 12-megapixel Dual Pixel rear camera with LED Flash with OIS and f/1.7 aperture, where as the front accommodates an 8-megapixel auto focus camera with f/1.7 aperture and 80-degree wide-angle lens.
