Google has recently updated the Play Music app for the Samsung Galaxy S8, rolling out a new feature called New Release Radio specifically for the Galaxy S8 Google Play Music streaming service subscribers. Android Authority reported that this feature is only being introduced to the Samsung device owners and other devices will have to wait for a bit to receive the feature.
Samsung previously, partnered up with Google in April to make the Play Music app as the default player in the Galaxy S8 and the S8+ in return for Google offering their users a bunch of freebies. The freebies included a free three-month trial service along with the ability to upload 1,00,000 songs free to Play Music which is double than what is offered to others.
Google’s New Release Radio feature offers the users a playlist of latest song releases which is updated on a daily basis. This playlist will ensure you have something new to listen every time you open the Play Music app-based on your previous listening history.
Currently, it is unknown if this feature will remain a feature exclusive to Samsung devices or it will come to other devices as well. This feature if introduced to other devices will help the Play Music subscription service get an edge over its competitors.
It was also reported that some Reddit users have already started posting ways through which this service can be run on non-Samsung devices by adding the station through the desktop web page of Google Play Music.
